First Day of School

Even though the first day of school was like 5 or 6 weeks ago, as you can tell by my many posts in a row, I'm a little behind.  Better late then never, right?

The first day of homeschool is full of mixed emotions.  The kids are excited to learn new things, but not quite ready to give up on their relaxed summer lifestyle!

Needless to say, or first day went great!  Here's the big guy doing his spelling with Apple Scrabble tiles.

This year our oldest is attending a hybrid charter school.  It's precisely for homeschooled kids.  We homeschool 3 days a week, and he attends the school the other 2.  They teach a little of everything, but primarily focus on History, Science, Geography, Art, & Music.  So if I wanted to, I don't really have to do any of them at home.  They also provide all of my curriculum for home for free.  Its a sweet deal!

Anywho, the first day was a little hard on the big guy.  He was nervous starting out at a new place.  He was afraid he wouldn't make friends and his teacher would be mean and it'd be hard...the typical elementary anxieties.  But it all went well and he LOVED it!
